The work of Damião Experiença

The original names in Portuguese with possible errors on writing had been kept. An explanation about the track naming system exists in FAQ. Read and you will know when is one track, when is five, etc.

The records with ??? arre only known by the title and Damião does not supply more information, sometimes he doesn’t even know. If you have some of the missing records or have the relation on the names of tracks collaborate with us and share! IMPORTANT

The only way to have certainty on the name of tracks is reading the center of the record, as explained in the bio and the FAQ, the covers are random.

* means that they are in the same physical vinyl, one each side of the record, however they are different conceptual records.

Phase 1

Acoustic Damião, the guitar having 1 to 5 strings depending on the record, rattle of bottle taps in the arm of the guitar, vocal and harmonica. Almost all the lyrics almost are sung in the dialect of the Planeta Lamma

Phase 2

Acoustic Damião, with normal guitar, marimba, harmonica and bongo. The lyrics are sung in the dialect of the Planet Lamma, in instantaneous Portuguese (made on the spot) and some slices of Spanish.

Phase 3

Damião experiença overlaps four or five tracks previously recorded acoustics with rock bases of the 70s. The result is a polyphonic chaos, 5 voices at the same time. Generally in the start and the end of records small stretches of acoustic recorded tracks previously inserted and cut, literally cut. The language used is the dialect of the Planet Lamma raised by 5 daminhões plus dynamic Portuguese.

Phase 4

Damião singing with Lamma Planet band, in Portuguese, lyrics previously written. Eventually there is a song in the dialect of the planet, however with Zappa style.

Phase 5

Damião sings with the band - Lamma Planet in Portuguese, lyrics previously written and sings in the tempo. Instrumental music are present in this phase. Known as Brazilian Zappa for songs of this phase.

Review - First and magnanimous. Only one string in the guitar. Review - Here we have beautiful musical structures of a Daimeão of the second phase with politics and protest lyrics. This block also gave us a hymn repeated in various other records speaking about the black admiral, leader of the Revolt of the Chibata, João Cândido. One of the saddest blocks of his work appears in the song Waltz at the end, where he tells us a bit of his self bio - my father beat to me in such a way..., essential to understand the damionic thought.

Review - Here the third phase incredible. You can hear five damiões singing simultaneously overlapped, some harmonicas, guitars and marimbas. Here, Damião mixed records of the first phase, and then to each new added voice, we also have a new string on the guitar. Brilliant. Pre-Requisite to have the developed mind. Polyphonic. Grandma, there's no way for the world anymore, because it is divided in two great powers: The Soviet Union and United States of America. It's no use any country to cry or to lament, because the land belongs to the Russian and the American.

Review - A bit more from the third phase. Here we see the Damionic concept of reggae. You can notice it is singular, in the overlapping of voices, an acoustic appearing chant pro-dictatorship - Therefore this is why I like the lock - everything in the mixer with more, Damião, of course, clearly. A classic. A masterpiece.

Review - Last record that we know of, presents Damião's greatest world-wide hit, Hunger, where he says "love is an illusion, I got married with a secondhand woman, the error was mine, to marry a perforated woman who another one fucked" in the principle of its pro-virginity crusade. Point out that this song makes partnership with "A Woman's love is money, she left me broke, I was not the first". Even.
